Buenos Aires

Six months in Buenos Aires and it's time to bring in the shore lines and set the sails. And even though we're anxious to move on we can't help but be melancholy about leaving behind new friends and acquaintances.

Buenos Aires is like big cities everywhere with lots of museums, theatre, shopping, and restaurants. Mark doesn't like big cities and preferred to stay in San Fernando but I would make the hour trip into the city each week to explore the different neighborhoods.

Almost everyday somewhere in the city a demonstration is taking place. And they like ceremonies in remembrance to old heroes. Florida Street is a pedestrian only walkway and all day long there are performing artist of all types. On the weekends neighborhoods throughout the city hold street fairs. San Telmo is known for it's antique stores and tango clubs. On Sundays the main park in San Telmo holds tango demonstrations.

We've cleared through all the agencies this morning and will be taking off this afternoon and anchor in the Delta about an hour from San Fernando. Tomorrow we will cross the Rio de la Plata to Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay.
