Ilha do Campinho, Camamu Estuary

We're anchored in a beautiful spot 60 miles south of Salvador. We left Itaparica Monday at 6:30 am and headed for Salvador to clear out with the officials. Mark was determined to get it done and sat on the door step of the Policia Federal until someone finally showed up and very reluctantly cleared us for Vitoria with a stop in Camamu. He had just enough time to get to the Capitanio do Porto before they closed. We were on our way at 5:00 pm.

It was a quick overnight voyage to Camamu. The only other boat here was a French boat and it left this evening for Salvador. Too bad because the couple seemed really nice and interesting. So we now have the anchorage to ourselves. We'll spend 4 or 5 days here enjoying the peaceful scenery before heading for Vitoria, a 5 days sail south.
