One year ago we were in Puerto Williams, Chile enjoying Christmas Day at the house of our friends Wolf and Janet, celebrating Wolf’s 50th birthday with an international group of cruisers and Chileans. The next day we left for Antarctica to begin the New Year 2008. Our trip to Antarctica was the highlight of the year, but we had many other wonderful experiences and continued to meet interesting people. And there were a few surprises, such as completely changing our itinerary 500 miles off the coat of Chile and continuing north to the Galapagos and Mexico instead of west to the Marqueses.

If you would like to read more and view photos of Tamara’s 2008 voyages, highlights can be found on the following date entries:

Antarctica 2/10/08
Chilean Channels 5/4/08
Chilean Patagonia 6/8/08
La Serena/Elqui Valley, Chile 9/21/08
Galapagos 11/5/08

2009 will take us back to the US Northwest via Hawaii and Alaska.

We wish you all the very best for the New Year. Stay healthy and enjoy life as best you can. Keep the round side down, keep the water out, and sail safe!

Ciao, Nancy and Mark
