The goal for the summer was to try and get as far north as Nome, about 550 miles from False Pass. Just north of Juan Fernandez Island the wind stopped and for three days we were getting every breath of wind we could out of the sails, one day only making 16 miles. But we got a 20-25k wind from the SE and we moving along at over 5.5+ k. Went to the Port Lockroy museum and gift shop in between cruise ships - one came in this morning and another this afternoon.  Actually we can't see the cruise ships when they come in - the museum buildings are on small rock outcrop that's between us and the cruise ship anchorage. The Islands were not on our list of places to visit on that passage, as they are a bit too far to the east and it can often be quite difficult to return to the continent against the prevailing south westerly winds and strong current.
